More About Trevor

Mr. Addie-Carter is an Associate Attorney with Horman Nichols, where he represents individuals and businesses before administrative agencies, the District Court of Maryland, and the Maryland Circuit Courts.  His practice areas include personal injury, family law, landlord/tenant law, civil litigation, and misdemeanor criminal and traffic defense.

 

Prior to joining Horman Nichols in 2018, Mr. Addie-Carter served as the Judicial Law Clerk for the District Court of Maryland for Frederick and Washington Counties; as an Assistant State’s Attorney for Frederick County, Maryland; and as a Legal Fellow for the Montgomery County, Maryland State’s Attorney’s Office, where he assisted prosecutors with juvenile delinquency and animal cruelty cases.

 

Mr. Addie-Carter graduated from the American University Washington College of Law in 2016.  While in law school, he served as a volunteer judge for the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project and as the Editor-in-Chief for the Criminal Law Practitioner publication.  He additionally served two internships with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office; as a judicial intern to the Hon. John M. Maloney of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Maryland; and as a student attorney representing low-income tenants with DC Law Students in Court (now known as Rising for Justice).

 

Since moving to Frederick, Mr. Addie-Carter has become active with the Bar Association of Frederick County, Maryland, where he enjoys serving as an attorney judge for the Maryland Youth and the Law (MYLaw) High School Mock Trial Competition.  He was additionally selected as a 2022 Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation.  He currently volunteers as a co-chair of The Frederick Center’s Legal Services Committee, which seeks to connect Frederick County’s LGBTQ+ community to legal resources ranging from pro bono assistance to full rate legal services.

 

He currently lives in Frederick with his husband and their cats.
