After earning his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, Mr. Horman served in the Judge Advocate General's Department in the United States Air Force (1968-1973), in the Active Air Force Reserve (1973-1976), and in the West Virginia Air National Guard (1976-1991), retiring with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
Upon completing his active duty service, Mr. Horman was an associate with Weinberg, Michel, & Stern from 1973-1975. He also served as a Federal Government Attorney-Advisor to the Cmdr. for U.S. Army Medical Material Agency from 1975-1976. Mr. Horman was a partner with Rosenberg, Burgee, Bower, & Phillips from 1976-1980 and in private practice from 1980-1986. From 1980-1981 Mr. Horman was also an Assistant States Attorney with the Frederick County State’s Attorney’s Office.
In 1986, Mr. Horman co-founded the firm of Shoemaker, Horman & Clapp, where he served as partner until his retirement. He also served as a Guest Lecturer on real estate licensing at Frederick Community College from 1974-1980 and in 1983 offered a continuing education course on the topic.
Mr. Horman is of counsel to Horman Nichols. He puts his 40 plus years of legal experience to work for his clients by assisting them with a wide range of real estate and business law needs.
